Port Harcourt’s premier online art gallery Truvark is hosting a solo exhibition for Multidisciplinary artist Oteki Onuode Prince titled Tyranny Of Beauty.  The exhibition began with a one-hour fireside chat with the artist.

 

The highly anticipated exhibition showcases the unique artistry of Oteki Onuode Prince, with his latest collection titled Tyranny of Beauty. In this captivating series, Oteki delves into the impact of globalization on African identity through an eclectic mix of collages, portraiture, figurative symbolism, and mixed media. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, African artistic traditions, music, and his personal experiences, Oteki masterfully weaves these influences together, offering a thought-provoking exploration of identity, culture, and the modern African experience.

Oteki is a versatile artist whose creations are brought to life through his unique use of personal iconography, including metaphors, textures, indigenous patterns, and vibrant colors. His artistic philosophy is grounded in the belief that genuine art emerges as a response to socio-economic challenges or the dynamics of his immediate surroundings. The collection is curated by Tochi R. Victor.
